The Middle East is an area where cars and truck is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.


But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pushed up the cost of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.


In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
