The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is cheap, frequently leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.


But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have risen the price of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.


In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
