The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is taking benefit of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
